KEROSENE DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING IN NIGERIA:HOW TO BUY KEROSENE (DPK)  FROM THE REFINERIES,STORE AND SELL TO CONSUMERS.

It is ironical that Nigeria,the 6th largest exporter of crude oil in the world is one of the major importer of petroleum product in the world. The demand for the product is very high in the country in view of the fact that over 60% of the more than 150million Nigerians use it for cooking and lighting. The diversion of the product to the aviation industry where it serves as a good and less expensive replacement to aviation fuel with the addition of some chemicals has made kerosene scarcity a perenial problem and a hard nut for the Government to crack
   There is no gainsaying the fact that kerosene (DPK) business is a very lucrative business.
There are two areas of the kerosene (DPK) business one can go into. They are:
(1) KEROSENE TRUCKING SERVICES
Those involved in this aspect of the kerosene (DPK) business provide the trucks (tankers) that convey the kerosene product from the refinery to the storage locations.
(2) KEROSENE BUYING,STORAGE AND SALE
These are the group that buy kerosene (DPK)store and sell to consumers.
